Hi boys here's the latest numpty question. I have to clean the reusable Triumph air filter and never having anything to do with these kind of filters I was wondering which products to use, how much oil to apply to the filter and the method i.e. Do you apply the oil to the inside surface etc.

George.
Clean it using any solvent or detergent cleaner and they dry it out + Check the Glued Seams to see that they are not coming apart. If they are just glue em back together with some contact adhesive and then give it a spray INSIDE with some quality Air Cleaner Foam Oil. I use FUCHS Silkolene Foam Filter Oil and initially you say what the fuck is this shit as it sticks like shit to a nappy or as the Yanks say "Diaper" It then drys out and works great.

I use dishwashing liquid and the spray oil that came with my UNI filter. But i use very very little oil so as not to restrict flow too much. Just enough to get that stickiness happening.

Just don't ask Dave for instructions on how to re-install it.

Thanks for the advice guys it looks like I was looking for problems that weren't there and I'm not going to take the piss out of Dave because I suspect we're of a similar age and just as liable to senior moments myself although I tend to keep quiet about them and hope no one notices

Once again thanks for the response you didn't disappoint
